The county Registrar maintains Birth and Death records for current and prior year only. For all years records, you can contact the county recorders in your county. The county office provides a much faster service than that provided by CDPH Vital records. However, the local county recorder may charge more fees. CA County Registrar and Recorders office can accept requests for certified copies through the mail, in-person or online for some counties. Follow these steps to request your order fast and easy:-

- Complete Application for Certified copy of Birth – Death – Marriage Certificate- Do not forget to complete the ” Sworn Statement Section in each Application.
- Notarize the ” Sworn Statement ” in front of a licensed Notary Public in the State of California.
